You are not here by accident. Let me first start off with that undeniable truth. God has a purpose for you and your marriage. It does not matter if you came here broken and hopeless. There is something much greater than your feelings and that is Truth. There are plenty of reasons for saving a Christian marriage but I want to mention the top three that come to mind.

Before I begin let me say that I am talking to you from experience not down to you as an authority. I know what it is like to be hurting and resentful. I know what it is like to feel alone and hopeless. I know. Fortunately, my darkest hours are behind me and I have a light that burns brighter than before. I would like to take this light and shine it down you dark tunnel and show you the way. Let’s move forward shall we?

Here are three reasons for saving a Christian marriage:

  1. God Has a Plan For The Two of You. That’s right, He will do great things through faulty and broken circumstances and people. Check out Jeremiah 29:11. He KNOWS  the plans He has for you (and your spouse). Remember that this was spoken to the Israelites AFTER they had been devastated as a people and banished off to the land of Babylon. Still there was hope. And yes there is hope for your Christian marriage. God and only God can mend together what has been broken and shattered by years of mistreatment and misunderstanding. Beyond the healing is a plan that he has for the two of you so now is the time to move up and out together.
  2. You Need Each Other.Perhaps that may sound far fetched to those of you that having been living separate lives for so long but it is most certainly the truth. Try and think back to the courting days of your relationship. More than likely there was a time that you could not stand to be apart from each other. But slowly the days have passed and the appreciation and respect for one another has eroded the feeling of yesteryear. Well, the good news is that you can have restoration in your marriage and instead of tearing one another apart through words or silence the future holds the promise of healthy dependence on one another.
  3. Others Need to See Your Marriage Healed. What the non-believing world needs to see from a Christian marriage is wholeness and healing. What a great witness that is to those that scoff at the Bible and point toward the incredibly high rate of divorce in “Christian Marriage.” The beautiful thing is that God is in the business of doing great things with difficult circumstances. He can remold the marred clay of our lives and marriages if we let Him.

I hope this post has helped you in some way. If you would like to find real help for you marriage I cannot think of a better place to start than right here.

God bless you and come back soon as we will be posting regularly.
